Update - 9/1/2010 It is hard to believe but summer is almost over!! East Lake Resort’s last day of business this year will be Sunday September 12th. We still have some cabins available for Labor Day weekend (3 night minimum stay) so call ASAP before they are all gone. Bait fishing with worms or power bait is producing many rainbows that average 14”. Kokanee fishing is still very good, the fish are suspended 35-50’ down and most are being caught bait fishing or jigging. Lots and lots of fish are near the white slide; they are schooling up for the spawn, so start fishing there and use your electronics to locate the schools of fish. Try bait fishing with worms and white corn, or jig with Gibbs Minnows, Buzz Bombs or Nordics in any shade of pink, blue, or green. For the fly fishermen, the Callibaetis hatch is winding down but fish are still being caught on nymphs and emergers. Brown trout fishing has been picking up; the recent cool weather and shorter days are making them more active and we have been seeing more of them caught recently. The café and coffee hut are open thru Labor Day 7am-4pm, then closed weekdays after Labor Day, but reopens Sat/Sun of our last weekend September 11-12. Reservations for cabins, RV sites, rental boats and moorage can be made by using our online reservation system or you can give us a call and we will book it for you. Also give us a call if you have any questions at all about our resort or East Lake. Thank you for all of your continued support. Your hosts, David and Kathy Jones
